Maggie: SHOELESS, it is good. Like thoughtful Japanese hosts, you can offer a pair of house slippers to people who feel weird about their feet. (Except not at a dance party.) Keeping your shoes on inside is fine, long as it's a house like Houghton House, with marbled floors everywhere and a staff to mop them up. xo
Val I couldn't agree more. Though Rachel and I both find that our Southern parents are THROWN OFF by being asked to remove their footwear at the door. Walking around in sock feet is so...undignified.
Rachel, I think including the footwear on the invitation affirms the dress code and you’re good. And what a fabulous idea!
As they say on The Bachelor, I needed the validation and you gave it to me! Thank you!
